8 AIMIA finalists for Reactive

2013 was a busy year for our teams all over the world – and it shows in the recent list of AIMIA Award finalists. Reactive has been shortlisted in eight categories for five separate projects. 8 finalists is already a cool result – if I’m not mistaken the best agency in the running. But to score those across 5 different projects means we are excelling within a broad range of digital : from mobile shopping apps, social media on the tablet, innovative use of on- and offline, to massive websites with strong retail and CRM functionality.

AIMIA, the Digital Industry Association for Australia, has represented the digital content, services and applications industry in Australia since 1992. Currently in it’s 20th year, the AIMIA Awards consistently recognise work of an exceptionally high standard. And this year’s shortlist is no different.

Tim O’Neill elected National President of AIMIA

AIMIA, the peak body for Australia’s digital industry, has enlisted Tim O’Neill  (better known as TimO, co-founder and joint managing director of my agency Reactive) as its new National President. By the way, the whole naming business with Tim + capital letter is a bit of an anomaly at Reactive as there are four senior Tims. Apart from myself (TimB), both founders (TimO and TimF) and the ECD (Tim K) share the same first name.


I have known TimO for more than 12 years, having met on my first visit to Australia, when we were speaking together at one of Swinburne Uni’s creative events. So I am very happy to see him take such a prominent role in the Australian industry (even though he still sounds very much a Kiwi).

AIMIA leads the digital industry through the exchange of ideas, insights and information. And Reactive has been a long-standing member of AIMIA, with Tim representing the industry body committee in Victoria and serving the National Board prior to his election as National President.

AIMIA CEO John Butterworth said: “Tim has already made a considerable contribution to AIMIA over a number of years and we are looking forward to seeing his drive and energy applied to his new role as AIMIA National President. Tim has developed a wealth of digital experience across multiple continents, and we know he will bring insights to the team to allow continued growth for our members and the sector at large.”
